IIT JEE –Two key options for your preparation and success

IIT JEE selection in some ways is guarantee to a great professional career.  A degree from the reputed engineering institution like IIT encourages a large number of students to attempt IIT exam every year. Students who aim for this exam typically start the preparation two years in advance.  Parents of the students are actively involved in ensuring their children get the best IIT study material, video lectures, books, professional guidance and coaching for IIT preparation.

If you are an IIT aspirant and looking to succeed in the IIT entrance exam to get admission in top engineering institutes of India then there are some crucial points which you should keep in mind when preparing for IIT JEE paper.

First thing which you should keep in mind is to get the latest IIT information from authorized IIT website. One of the important information is to look at the IIT JEE syllabus apart from IIT application and examination dates.  The syllabus is likely to be what is covered in board exam syllabus of class XI and XII. In rare scenario you can expect the IIT JEE questions coming outside of the syllabus.  Your focus should really be studying the course material provided by regular coaching, online IIT coaching or correspondence course.

Students select one of the two options for IITJEE preparation:

Regular Coaching: One of the options is to cover the entire IIT JEE syllabus is to join a regular JEE coaching institute. The key advantage is that you get to see and prepare with other students who are also aiming for IITJEE.  However if you miss even a single class then you will need to cover the missed lectures on your own or with help of your friends.  Success in IIT entrance exam is also a function of how much time a student can devote for self-study, because one has to grasp on his/her own the subject fundamentals to solve problems which come in IIT JEE papers. If you are a smart student then you may end of spending a lot of time attending classes which you can cover in half or lesser time than what you will end up spending in an IIT coaching environment. It is also a well-known fact that these coaching institutes are very expensive and only a fraction of students who go to these coaching gets selected in IIT entrance exam.

IIT JEE Self Study: Another option for IIT preparation is self-study using an IIT JEE correspondence course, books, video lectures and video tutorials. You can crack IIT JEE question paper if you start preparation well advance and continuously solve problems of IIT level.  It is important to realize that one should not get caught in the habit of only solving the difficult problems which could be of much higher level than IIT entrance. It is important to be focused on the goal which is IIT selection and avoid the trap of solving all the difficult problems in Physics, Math, and Chemistry.  The key beauty in self-study is the ability to learn at your own pace for IIT entrance sitting in the comfort of your home. If you choose online IIT preparation and good video lectures then you will get the option of getting your doubts solved by email or on internet.  Self-study does not mean you should not consult with your friends who are also preparing for IIT. It is important to discuss your problems and doubts with your friends as well, in all likelihood they can better explain to you a concept or fundamental than any teacher.

The most important thing is to have up-to-date IIT information and focus only on IIT JEE syllabus. Remember that there are more than 5 lakh students who will attempt IIT entrance exam but only few thousands who prepare well stand a good chance to get selected.  The real competition is only with people who are preparing, so the number of 5 lakh should not intimidate you.

You can achieve the admirable success which is IIT selection if you are serious, motivated and are disciplined about IIT preparation.  You will be able to crack any kind of IIT JEE question papers.

Best Luck for IIT JEE 2012.
